SHUKA

An old and new seed confectionery brand launched in October 2022 by Torokuya, a specialty store for sweetened beans founded in Kyoto in 1926. Making use of the ancient food preservation technique of sugar pickling used in making sweetened beans, the brand not only uses beans that are popular in Japan, but also nuts such as cacao and pistachios that are loved internationally. With the motto of "Enjoying seeds," they create sweets that make the most of the individuality of the seeds. In 2023, they will launch "SHUKA gelato," a new plant-based gelato made only from seeds.
