Founded 230 years ago. This is the Asakusa branch of Kawamuraya, a long-established pickle shop. It was established with the concept of providing a place for cultural exchange through experiences and learning, where customers can experience Japanese food culture with the five senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch), and experience the fermentation culture that is closely related to pickles. It reopened in the spring of 2025. The store's design is a comfortable space that combines the atmosphere of the time with a modern Japanese style, including an eat-in corner facing the street reminiscent of an Edo teahouse, and a food and beverage floor where pickled dishes are served on a raised tatami mat, allowing customers to enjoy Japanese culture. The homemade pickled vegetables, which are prepared in the store every day, are also very popular. The pickled vegetables are completely vegan-friendly. They are highly nutritious and recommended for intestinal health.
